Our Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course (NTDC) was the first course of its kind that was fully accredited by the Nutritional Therapy Council (NTC) – recognising the academic integrity and rigour of our curriculum, and the gravitas of the diploma qualification. We are proud that our recent re-accreditation by the NTC in late 2012 means that our course continues to be recognised internationally for its quality and that ION is seen as the first choice provider in this field.

Our comprehensive part-time, modular course delivers up-to-date theoretical knowledge alongside rigorous clinical training to form the necessary basis of a career as a trusted, safe, effective Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with the very highest professional standards.

The course will first equip you with a comprehensive working knowledge of the components of food and their roles in human biochemistry and physiology. You will progress to learn about the importance of dietary and environmental factors, their impact on health and disease the balancing, healing and therapeutic effects of food and nutrients, based on the principles of Functional Medicine.

Functional Medicine is a science-based, holistic, patient-centred approach to assessment, prevention and health optimisation. It aims to identify biochemical and physiological imbalances which cause health problems in the individual, addressing these principally through nutrition and lifestyle management.

The final stages of the Course will teach you the specialist and complex aspects of practice and will require you to research, plan and reflect on how you propose to develop a successful career or business in Nutritional Therapy.
